The Penn Summer Institute in Teaching is designed for non-teaching students. The program is for students who are interested in becoming teachers.

There are numerous public schools located in Swarthmore. The City of Swarthmore is home to several elementary and middle schools. These schools include the Swarthmore Elementary School, the John D. O’Bryant Middle School, the David T. Wilbur Middle School, the Swarthmore Elementary School, the Swarthmore Middle School, and the Swarthmore High School. The high school is home to a variety of clubs and organizations. These include the French Club, the National Honor Society, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and the Swarthmore High School Players.
